Copyright 2001 -- Robert Baer Jr. A Poem --- "A Dinosaur's Valentine's Day" A Dinosaur's Valentine's Day by Robert Baer Jr I've heard all my life When one takes a wife They're happiness is assured But I'm here to say It don't work that way For me, it was all a blurr My marriage was cheer For nine happy years But soon the trouble started My wife grabbed a man And off she ran And left me broke and brokenhearted Off she did run And left me and my son Twisting in the wind It doesn't seem right To suffer day and night When she is the one who sinned Now I sit alone And I have grown Used to dreading this day For my Valentine Crossed over the line As she blasted my heart away My marriage was cursed Not for better, but worse But now I have paid the price One still broken heart My son and I are apart And my ex-wife thinks it's all nice This dinosaur's learned When his marraige burned One simple fact of life Think once, think twice Think as long as you like Before ever taking a wife
